Here's a chance to earn a free one-year membership with "The Neighborhood" -- Keep Reading!
I am compiling a living book resource list for books related to cities, states, regions, countries, events or biographies surrounding these places that will help families when they are preparing their children to travel to a destination.
For example, you are traveling to St. Augustine, FL or London, England and would like to have a book list of great living literature to read with your children before you go.
I am using the library system, but I feel that personal recommendations from those who live in the area are so much more valuable.
Contact me with some book titles from your area and I will send you a promo-code for a free one-year membership to "The Neighborhood". Your membership will allow you to create a listing on our site and contact other members about exchanging homes!
When I have compiled a sizable amount of book titles I will be making this resource available for free on our website. To be the first to get this resource be sure to sign up for our newsletter on our homepage!

ReplyDeleteA fun way learn about an area is with historical fiction. You can find books about the history of a location you want to visit is to check in your library's reference section for "American Historical Fiction: An Annotated Guide to Novels for Adults and Young Adults." You'll be able to scope out locations by city and state. For world travel, try the "World Historical Fiction" version. Also, check out the state and local historical societies on-line to learn about living history events and venues.
