Lots of Walking on Your Next Trip? Tips to be Footloose and Fancy Free!

When we visited D.C., Williamsburg and Jamestown we walked morning til night for 6 days. We ran to catch the bus, the shuttle, the train and hurried to the next museum...OH MY ACHING FEET!

So I thought I'd share a few quick tips to take care of your feet so that you can get the most out of your action packed days. Becuz sore feet make fussy bodies.

  • Wear a comfortable pair of walking shoes, even if they aren't the prettiest shoes with your outfit! Even better... take several different pairs of comfortable shoes to interchange each day. Different shoes will have different rubbing points. I even take my favorite comfortable sandals.
  • Two pairs of thin socks instead of one regular pair work together to cut down on blisters...the outer sock receives the bulk of the excess rubbing, reducing the chafing on tender areas.
  • AND this is the most important tip! Putting a touch of Vaseline on the blister prone areas cuts down on the friction! Works like a miracle!

If you follow these tips you will be pleased at how comfortable your feet stay...but just in case, don't forget to toss in the bandaids!
